ABOUT

Hi my name is Jude Kingston.  My professional career spans close to 30 years working in the Australian and international fashion retail landscape, starting out as a retail fashion buyer and building a reputation as a global fashion expert bringing my industry knowledge, insights and expertise to clients , industry advisory boards and mentoring designers.

I have experienced first hand the effects of mental illness, I know and understand all too well the impact this has on your life, the feelings of loneliness, isolation and loss of confidence that comes with it. I have witnessed many of my colleagues experience the same with lasting and damaging effects.

Working for major companies I found the behaviours of the industry were the same no matter where I worked.  In 2016 I had my worst experience, it devastated me. Thoughts of suicide gave way to depression, stress and anxiety. It took me 2 years to recover and the invisible scars remain.

Through these experiences over the years it highlighted a need to talk about and raise awareness for Mental illness in the Fashion and Creative Industries and in doing so effect a change within these industries.

And with that, Mind your Fashion was created.

In 2019 I was invited to speak at New York Fashion Week, it was a wonderful experience but it also highlighted to me that mental illness in the fashion and creative industries is in fact a global issue.

Mind your Fashion is the voice to bring about change within the industry and in doing so provide support for those who need it most.
